If You Feel Forsaken, You Are In Good Company!

And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”). -Mark 15:34, NIV

When you feel alone, hurt, and rejected, it is okay to voice these things to God. In fact, you can tell Him directly of your pain. You can tell Him you feel abandoned and forsaken. It is okay.

Jesus did this on the Cross.

And this gave me comfort when I felt especially rejected and forsaken.

You are in good company.

The God of the universe has felt such unjust abandonment and pain. He did not deserve this pain but took it for sinners like you and me.

He felt the full force of such existential pain. Such alienation.

And He models for us a response:

Tell it to God!

If Jesus could do it, so can we.
