Happy Father’s Day, Faithful Spouses!
Father’s Day is a complicated holiday for many. To me, it represents a restored dream. When my first marriage ended, I was left wondering if I would ever get to be a father.
God answered that question in affirmative when I married Mrs. DM becoming an instant father to her then almost three year old.
Now, I am living the challenges of shepherding and fathering a teenager. It had its difficult and rewarding moments. I would have to say that it is one of my most favorite roles as a man–i.e. being Munchkin’s dad.
Today, I was reflecting on the father figures in my life. My dad was a rock for me when I went through my divorce. I am very grateful for him.
And I also thought about all the spiritual fathers in my life. I am grateful to those men for giving of their time and wisdom in teaching me so many things. I thank God for them!
