I recently competed in a weight lifting meet as a bench only competitor.
The day was a mixed bag. I succeeded on my opening attempt where I easily benched pressed 250kgs/551lbs. This was good enough to earn me a medal at the meet.
Sadly, I missed at the weight I really wanted to hit in competition. I was really close on my third attempt (second time attempting the weight) at 375kgs/826lbs. This is a weight I can usually easily hit in training.
Oh, well. I think it will fall next time I compete.
Training will continue, and I have not lost sight of my ultimate goal of benching 1,000lbs someday soon, I hope.
