I wonder.

You know how I am scorned, disgraced and shamed;
all my enemies are before you.

-Psalm 69:19, NIV

I wonder…

…how many “friends” knew she was cheating on me?

This is one mystery that will likely forever remain unsolved. I do suspect the number who knew was far more than I would wish were the case. Our society–and even churches–are not good about being kind to faithful spouses in telling them the hard truths about infidelity.

People feel awkward about outing such a “private” matter. Yet they do not feel similarly awkward about participating in the Cheater’s deception by keeping the sick secret. Interesting, right?!

The truly kind thing is to tell the faithful spouse what you’ve observed. ‘Knowledge is power’ as the saying goes. The faithful spouse deserves restoration of that power.
