Make it stop!

My tears have been my food
    day and night,
while people say to me all day long,
    “Where is your God?”

-Psalm 42:3, NIV

Just make it stop!

I remember how this was the feeling I had early in my divorce process from my Cheater. It made me vulnerable to doing some soppy, chumpy things.

Sometimes, we want the world to go back to the way it was before the trauma of infidelity discovery and abandonment.

If you find yourself in this feeling, I want to encourage you. It does not last forever. You can get through it. I did.

The reality is there is no going back to the way things were.

The person you thought you married is not the who they presented as to you. They are the person who treated you with utter contempt and endangered you through selfishly choosing the “thrill” of another partner. This is not someone who is your friend anymore!

This is a time where we need true friends to remind us that the pain will end, and to help us not to run to the one who created the mess to begin with for relief. It won’t end well if we do.

Just make it stop!  It will. Things WILL get better! Keep pushing through and focusing on yourself remembering there is no going back to the past.
