“If a man is discovered committing adultery, both he and the woman must die. In this way, you will purge Israel of such evil.”
-Deuteronomy 22:22, NLT
Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is accept the decisions of others and allow them to experience the consequences of those decisions.
According to Scripture, adultery is a marriage ending sin. The death penalty–which is no longer the case, mercifully, in modern states–means God intended the marriage to end when such sin was uncovered.
Someone who chooses to cheat is choosing to end their marriage as that is the moral consequence of that sin.
Now, it still stinks to be the faithful spouse in this scenario. However, I want you to feel less guilty about filing for divorce in such matters. That is simply consequences catching up with your Cheater. It is NOT on you!
Again, Cheaters who do not want to get divorced ought to have considered that BEFORE cheating (and chosen otherwise)!
