Money Not Everything!

“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”

-I Timothy 6:10, NIV

Money isn’t everything, but it is hard to live without enough of it.

This was one of the most terrifying things about my divorce. I had to figure out how to survive on my own without my spouse’s support during a time of career transition for me.

It is hard enough launching into the world as newly working in your field of choice. Add the trauma of dealing with a Cheater, and it is doubly hard!

I was fortunate as I did not have to support children on top of all of this, and I had a world-class education to help me find employment. It was still hard and scary.

One thing I could have done without was the mockery and attacks from Cheater and her “flying monkeys.” Yet why expect differently from people who support liars and cheats?!

Things got much better as I settled into my employment. God provided for me, and that enabled me to let go of my Cheater along with my fears concerning her.

My encouragement to you who find yourselves in the scary place is to keep taking one step at a time. I did not find freedom all at once, and my path forward financially was not immediately apparent to me either.

God promises to meet our needs (Mt. 6:25-34) and He is a good bet!
