Obligation to tell

“If you sin by not stepping up and offering yourself as a witness to something you’ve heard or seen in cases of wrongdoing, you’ll be held responsible.”

-Leviticus 5:1, MSG

Is adultery wrong? Yes, it is sin.

So, if you see someone cheating on their spouse, you are obligated to let them know and not cover this sin.

That is what I see from this verse in Leviticus. The godly thing to do is to tell the faithful spouse.

It is also the kind thing to do.
The faithful spouse is likely operating with a dearth of information. They might not even know about the cheating. By telling them, you are helping them to protect themselves from further damage.
Just think about all those people who knew before you did. It is another level of betrayal thinking about them and realizing that they chose NOT to tell you. That alone damages relationships and possibly ends them.

So, yes, they are responsible, too.

Silence enables the deception and abuse to continue. Christians have an obligation to tell and end such sin.
