Staying with a cheater is often a waste of time.
Cheaters often do not appreciate the work and resources you have poured into your marriage. They are only in the relationship for what value they can extract from you. That is why cheating is such an attractive option to them.
They are fine with discarding one “value center” for another if it more attractive to them.
Sticking through tough times is not their idea of fun. They are in the marriage as long as it benefits them and is “fun.”
Looking back, I can see how it was a waste of my time trying to convince my Cheater to stop cheating. They had gotten a taste and weren’t going to put down their “drug” of choice. I could not compete with fantasy.
