Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season….
-Hebrews 11:25, KJV
I have some good news and some bad news for faithful spouses.
The good news is that cheaters are engaging in a fantasy relationship that fades when reality hits. They are chasing the “high” of being pursued and forbidden fruit. This can only last for so long.
Bad news is that you cannot compete with a fantasy or such an addiction.
Cheating is NOT about you or your marriage. It is about the cheater living out sinful desires in their heart (see Mark 7:21-23). You will never find the answer to the why question by looking outside of the sinful cheater.
