Changed cheater appearance for the charade

So is he who sleeps with another man’s wife;
    no one who touches her will go unpunished.

-Proverbs 6:29, NIV

Did you ever notice how your cheater changed their appearance when they were cheating?

Maybe your cheater got glasses–even though, he or she does not need them medically?

Maybe your cheater suddenly became a fitness nut getting toned and shedding a lot of weight?

Perhaps, they changed their wardrobe to clothes that they never would wear in the past?

Maybe they dyed their hair a different color?

You get the idea.

I wonder if this is their way to separate their double lives. They look different; therefore, they are not bound by their old selves and marriage vows of that person. Such is a lie, of course.

Those changes are clear signs that the cheater is capable of change. However, they just often lack the will power and character to make godly changes–like repentance.

Like so much in the cheater’s lives, they are living the lie and think they are “winning” as they run down the road to lose their very souls (see Hebrews 10:26-27).
