36 And Gideon said unto God, “If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said, 37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.”
38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.

Sometimes we need confirmation.
God knows this. He is kind and a good Father who understands our needs. Plus, He even sends confirmation sometimes when it just is simply nice to have.
I have noticed this pattern in my own life.
On thing I love about this story about Gideon is how gentle and patient God is with Gideon. He does not rebuke Gideon for lack of faith. Instead, He gently gives Gideon the confirmation he needs to walk boldly in what God has asked him to do.
The key though is Gideon has eyes to see.
We need open spiritual eyes for sometimes the confirmation isn’t as clear as this was for Gideon. God does things and confirms things sometimes in unexpected ways.
But the important thing to see here is that we serve a good God who loves us and is characterized by gentleness for His fearful followers.
He is kind and patient. And I find that comforting.
