Lessons from the birds

“Look at all the birds—do you think they worry about their existence? They don’t plant or reap or store up food, yet your heavenly Father provides them each with food. Aren’t you much more valuable to your Father than they?”

-Matthew 6:26a, TPT

Financial worry was a really close companion during the end of my first marriage.

Can anyone here relate?

I did  not know what I was going to do to get my basic needs met. In fact, I remember almost having a panic attack when she left me telling me she was separating “her” money from me. You see, my cheater had the best paying job(s) that had kept our household afloat during a crummy economy. So, her leaving left me financially vulnerable. It was some tough times. Worry was a real and present temptation.

That said, God took care of me.

He intervened and found me a job in a rather miraculous way. It did not pay a lot, but it covered my needs launching me into my career. God knew exactly what I needed. Plus, I thankfully had very supportive parents who were able to help me through the toughest stretch. I do not know where you are at today in your journey. Maybe money isn’t a factor for you? Maybe it is a BIG factor for you? I do not know.

What I do know is God is good as His word.

I trusted Him (and did some work, too), and He provided for me. He can do the same for you.

Remember, the birds don’t worry. Should we?

  1. Such a timely blog. God Bless you and thank you. Since my wife cheated x3 we have been separated since April with divorce finalised in November. Financial worry has loomed large but God has provided beautifully. Thanks again. I get great comfort from reading your blog daily.
