Magnanimous Cheaters (or so they think)

“I have to leave you. It is for the good of our marriage,” says the magnanimous cheater.

Some cheaters love to paint themselves as the generous one. They claim their motives are pure or even for the faithful spouse’s own good.

I even suspect some cheaters even believe these things!

The problem with such “magnanimous” cheaters is that the reality is they are only serving themselves. They leave the marriage because working through differences is hard work, and dating other people like a single person is much more fun. That is the truth.

Now, the faithful spouse is likely better off without the cheater. However, the cheater lacks the courage to actually pull the trigger and file for divorce citing their shallow reasons. That would make them look as bad as what they are doing!

Instead, cheaters will play at the charade.

They try to fool everyone into believe that they are the magnanimous one. The reality is they are the selfish quitter. And reality has a way of showing up eventually.

  1. Yes…my wife and her family tried their best to push me to file for divorce first.

I did not know what was happening behind my back. I did everything possible to save my marriage and most importantly to be with my kids.

The ploy was that if I file first then she would been an abandoned mom. Good story to get sympathy and easily fool people.

Somehow God saved me from this trap…

Truth came out eventually. Her preacher boyfriend was a fraud too.
