Moment of slippage

Did you ever have your Cheater give you a moment of unintentional honesty?

I call it a moment, because they did not follow that brief glimpse into reality with a full confession. However, for a moment, you caught a glimpse of what was or is really happening with them.

Maybe they confessed to doing something worthy of a biblical divorce? Or maybe it was a backhanded compliment implying more with someone else?

These are always easier to spot after the fact, of course. When you are married to someone, healthy people are not constantly on the look out for infidelity behavior. So, you may have missed the slippage in the moment.

I wonder if cheaters share to see how we respond. Maybe they are trying to get caught only to change their minds? Who knows?

What I do know is that faithful spouses deserve better treatment. That is why divorce is a real option (e.g. Mt. 19:9) to get away from these abusive folks.
