Resurrection Sunday Lessons

“He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.”

-Matthew 28:6, NLT

Too often, the story of Easter is misapplied to infidelity situations as to mean God will resurrect your marriage.

I think I lived in that world of false hope personally. It had nothing to do with what people told me explicitly. I just did not want to face a difficult reality.

Resurrection Sunday can speak to a different lesson though:

God creates a beautiful future outside of what we could ever hope or imagine for ourselves!

This is what I have experienced personally. God moves in ways I have not always anticipated over the years. Sometimes–often, to be honest–I thought I knew better, but God always brought me to a better place in the end even though it may have been a painful journey to get there.

This Resurrection Sunday I want to encourage you–not to fan the flames of false hope in your marriage coming back to life–but to trust God still has a bright and good future for you (because He does)!
