Ripples felt years later

Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

-Proverbs 27:6, KJV

People who have not lived the experience might not understand the incredible devastation cheating inflicts on faithful spouses.

Years can pass and the losses can come up in a micro-second. A song plays. A Facebook post is liked by someone you once knew. Someone checks out your LinkedIn profile.

You get the picture.

A whole host of feelings are elicited by these reminders.

These days I mostly feel a brief sense of sadness over former friends who chose not to behave like friends. It is sad to be reminded of what was lost. They chose poorly and our relationship ended.

It is still a loss.

One of many that comes with dealing with a cheater. It is a ripple effect of the destruction that comes when one partner chooses adultery over godliness.
