24 He saw an Egyptian mistreating an Israelite. So Moses came to the man’s defense and avenged him, killing the Egyptian. 25 Moses assumed his fellow Israelites would realize that God had sent him to rescue them, but they didn’t.

God’s timing and ways are not our ways.
What I find interesting about this story concerning Moses is how Moses was not wrong about God using him to deliver the Israelites. He just got the timing and means wrong.
Then Moses spends forty years in the desert after discovering the Israelites did not want to follow him in that moment.
God comes to him and THEN calls him to deliver the Israelites from Egypt. Moses has a very different response. He is more humble and let’s God lead this time.
I wonder how many of us had dreams or a destiny we felt were stripped from us.
Maybe it was a timing thing? God was preparing you for something bigger and better than what you could have conceive on your own.
My hope is that it doesn’t take forty years in the desert to prepare you like it did Moses. However, know that God is a restorer of dreams and has the “long game” in mind.
