PSA: A partial truth is still fully a lie!

So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body.

-Ephesians 4:25, NLT

Public Service Announcement:

Partial Truths Are Fully Lies!

This is a very common tactic of caught cheaters. They will confess to the point where the evidence would make them look ridiculous but no more.

“Oh, we are friends,” says the cheater.

What they conveniently leave off is that this “friendship” involves sexual activity.

They then turn on the faithful spouse in an attempt to distract them from the truth. The cheater paints the faithful spouse as unreasonable and controlling:

“Can’t I have friends?” cries the cheater.

Thus, the partial truth–also known as the LIE–covers their tracks and makes this counterattack possible. It obscures reality.

The faithful spouse is not opposed to having the cheater having friends generally speaking. We are just opposed to such relationships when they are of a romantic, sexual nature.

It is the whole “unreasonable” opposition to adultery thing we have going for us!

Whether it the “friend” partial truth or another, remember that you do not have to sort through the muck.

Just call it for what it is:

A lie.

Then choose not to play their cheater mind-games.
