To be seen and heard!

13 Thereafter, Hagar used another name to refer to the Lord, who had spoken to her. She said, “You are the God who sees me.” She also said, “Have I truly seen the One who sees me?” 14 So that well was named Beer-lahai-roi (which means “well of the Living One who sees me”).

-Genesis 16:13-14a, NLT

Faithful spouses are generally unseen in the Church.

Over the years, in so far as adultery situations were spoken about, I usually heard or read about how there needed to be a path to restore the Cheater. Very little was written or spoken about their victims, the faithful spouses and their kids.

Seeing faithful spouses would go a long way towards impressing the importance of keeping marriage vows as well as provide hope for those leaving infidelity abuse situations.

It frustrates me how Christian leaders seem more concerned about platforming “fallen” pastors at the cost of making their victims invisible. Nothing makes us feel more invisible than doing things like that. It is NOT conveying the heart of God towards adultery victims!

Normalizing divorce from unrepentant Cheaters is a good thing to do. We can do this by sharing stories from pulpit of faithful spouses who have overcome and availed themselves of the mercy of divorce.

I write here and minister to others regarding infidelity BECAUSE I know how important it is to be seen and heard. People need to know that there is life AFTER divorce from an abusive Cheater. And that life can be very abundant, indeed!

Part of “Taking Adultery Seriously” is seeing the victims and acknowledging the injustice of the situations. That is what I hope to do here at Divorce Minister and will continue doing.
