Crazy bird man! Ha.

Well, I did not see this one coming.

When I got divorced and remarried, I never thought I would become an owner of parrots. It just did not come up while dating Mrs. DM.

Yet here I am…

…five parrots later!

Really, it is a joy.

Mrs. DM knows how to play my love of animals to her advantage. That is how we got parrot number four and then five. She claims that is it.

I am grateful for these rescue birds. They teach me a lot about us as creatures and God’s love.

The love of a pet is a special sort of love. I think it awakens our hearts to God’s unconditional love.

Loki, one of the parrots, is especially attached to me. A gift this past week was him flying to me in another room after he lost sight of me. It feels good to be wanted.

I thank God for these creatures.

Even more so, I thank God for Mrs. DM and the Munchkin who share in my love of these amazing parrots.

Do not believe those who are all doom and gloom about life after divorce.

God has blessed my life following divorce and remarriage with greater joy and love than I could have ever imagined before (even or maybe especially since I now have five parrots)!

So much for becoming a crazy cat man surrounded by books! I guess I got married and became a crazy bird man, instead. Ha.

______

P.S. I learned that Mrs. DM preferred parrots to dogs as a pet about five years into our marriage. Now, I can’t imagine having a cat in the house as I wouldn’t want anything to happen to the little parrots. It was a ploy…. ha!
