Eight years. Another divorce anniversary.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

-Ecclesiastes 3:1, KJV

Eight years ago to this day, I received a message informing me that my divorce was finalized.

It was a “congratulations” that felt very inappropriate at the time.

So much has changed since that day.

I can look back at that ending today and be grateful for the mercy of divorce.

Divorce from my cheater paved the way for the life I have today. It is a life full of joy and rich relationships. Today, I have a wonderful job and an incredible home full of love.

The love of Mrs. DM and Munchkin fill the halls of my heart with the laughter of joy. Add to that love, the love of our pet parrots. It is a full house of love, indeed!

God can and does bless those who end up divorced from a cheater!

I do not know where you find yourself today:

Maybe you just discovered the infidelity? Maybe you were just served divorce papers and abandoned? Maybe today your divorce, too, is finalized?

Wherever you are, know God loves you dearly! And however dark it might seem, light is coming like the dawn after the deep dark of a winter night!

  1. December 26 will be the one year anniversary of when my divorce became final.
Despite knowing she abandoned me and her sons for another man, I still miss her, and It still hurts….

    1. I know it might not feel that way right now… but it does get better! My experience is that the first year is especially rough, yet things do start turning around in time.
