Entitled users

Here is the deceptive way of the adulterous woman:
she takes what she wants and then says,
“I’ve done nothing wrong.”

-Proverbs 30:20, TPT

Cheaters are entitled users.

They bank on the faithful spouse trusting them to continue their deceptions without consequences (like a divorce and all that comes with that). In other words, they use and abuse the faithful spouse’s trust.

This is who they are: Entitled Users.

It is important to understand this in dealing with a cheater. If you don’t and fail to use this information to inform your actions, you will continue to be walked over and used by them without remorse.

Can cheaters change?

Sure, but I would not assume they will do so.

It takes a lot of humility to change from this state. Sadly, cheaters generally lack such humility.

They have learned through the months–or years–of their deception “games” that they can get away with using you. A change will not come overnight barring a true miraculous intervention.

This is big reason why I suggest doing things that will protect you from being at their mercy. Get a good divorce lawyer. Make sure they go through the appropriate legal processes that they do not control.

If you do not do this, the likelihood that you get used again by the cheater is rather high. That is their nature. So, take that into consideration.
