Not so complicated!

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

-Hebrews 4:12, NLT

Thou shalt not commit adultery.

-Exodus 20:14, KJV

Christians over complicate situations when adultery has happened.

The commandment is pretty clear:

You are not to commit adultery. Fullstop.

There is no need to go into a long discussion about marital conditions. We do not have to delve deep in the psyche of the cheating partner. The family of origin matters are not really a concern here.

It is simple:

Did they or did they not keep the commandment?

That is how God views this situation. It is boiled down to obedience or disobedience. Who obeyed and who disobeyed?

Answering that determines your “innocent” or “guilty” party. It boils down to a simple morality test that you don’t have to go to seminary or therapy school to understand.

Let’s not overcomplicate what is truly that simple.
