There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:….a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance…
-Ecclesiastes 3:1,4, NIV
I remember fearing I would be crying forever when my life blew up around my (now) ex-wife’s abandonment and infidelity.
Grief was scary for me as it felt bottomless.
Maybe you can relate? I know it feels bottomless; however, I am here on the other side to tell you that it is NOT. Grief will come to an end.
But you need to go THROUGH your grief to get to the other side!
Honor your feelings of anger and sadness. Name your losses so that you can let go of them. Understand this is an emotional process. So, it won’t always make rational sense.
Find a place where you can be your true self and let out your emotions without judgement (or harm).
It is important our grief does not fester. We must NOT stuff and ignore it. It WILL show up whether or not we choose to allow it. So, it is better to find an appropriate place for it to do so.
