The “Find Myself” Cheater

Wisdom shouts in the streets.
She cries out in the public square.

They rejected my advice
and paid no attention when I corrected them.

-Proverbs 1:20, NLT

The “Find Myself” Cheater

This Cheater gives the “excuse” for their cheating as a heroic “find myself” quest. They are not leaving you because of you, but because of them. At least, there’s some truth to this.

“It’s not you; it’s me! I got to find me!”

The fact that your heart, health, bank account, and emotions are collateral could not be further from their concern. They have an important quest, and you do not matter in light of it.

These Cheaters will ignore wisdom calling to them and burn down their family lives over this fantasy quest.

In other words, they behave as fools. Sadly, you, too, pay the price for this particular foolishness.

It is best to let someone hell-bent of playing the fool go down that road alone. Divorce them (see Mt. 19:9). You do not have to travel that broad road to destruction with them.
