All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed.

-John 3:20, NLT

Cheaters are often so worried about how they will be seen by others.

They don’t want to be viewed as the “bad guy” in the marriage ending. So, they will present marriage narratives where it is “no body’s fault.”

This is why they get so irate when we tell others they cheated. That destroys how others may see them.

It also shows that they know what they did was bad. You do not go through all those gymnastics to hide the truth unless you do not like the truth. They understand it makes them look very bad.

They much rather make you take the hit all on your own. It does not bother them that the cloud around your marriage’s demise floats around you, too.

They would prefer, though, that you do not dispel said cloud with the truth about their cheating.
