Would you say such a thing to your own best friend?

Would you say the same thing (you just thought about yourself) out loud about a really good friend?

We, faithful spouses, can be our worst enemies. Instead of rejection the condemnation and shame, we heap it upon ourselves.

This needs to stop.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…

-Romans 8:1a, KJV

We need to stop listening to that mean, condemning voice in our heads. Instead, we need to fill our minds with God’s truth.

This is the truth that reminds us about how we are chosen from the foundations of the earth (see Ephesian 1:4) and are loved (John 3:16) as children of God (I John 3:1).

Healing from infidelity is a journey where we learn to befriend ourselves. We live into the truth of how God sees us.

In other words, we grow into the incredible love God has given us through Jesus, our Lord (see Ephesians 3:17-19). That sort of love has beautiful transforming power.
