If your cheater is responding with some version of this, your marriage is over. The cheater is refusing to face the fact that adultery is truly a MAJOR marriage problem.
You have nothing to work with here. The cheater is firmly in the grip of their sins.
When a cheaters are unwilling to even acknowledge that the affair has done catastrophic damage to the marriage, you have no hope of marriage resurrection.
They have “justified” their adultery already in their own minds. Any further conversation with the cheater will be inviting abuse where the cheater trots out what he or she sees as their “justification” for cheating on you.
It is best to move on.
Let God give them a spiritual spanking. You need to move on with your life. Staying in that relationship is just to invite more emotional abuse. You do not need that.
