“Friend” to lover

I was listening to some of the Kenny  Rogers’ songs. He died recently. One of his songs jumped out at me.

His song, “Daytime Friends,” struck me as a song that illustrates a most basic principle regarding cheaters:

They might start an illicit relationship as an emotional affair; however, that is not how it ends.

Humans are sexual creatures and they are not going to just be satisfied with illicit emotional connection. Given time, an emotional cheater will cross over to a physically sexual cheater. I am convinced of this progression.

Such is one reason why I have a hard to believing cheaters who claim that it was “only” an emotional affair. That is bad enough. However, I have a hard time believing that is where that relationship ended–especially when that illicit relationship went on for months or years.
