No rest for them

And again in the passage above he says, “They shall never enter my rest.”

-Hebrews 4:5, NIV

Some of the most miserable people are cheaters who are caught between their sinful passions and what they know is right.

They lash out at the faithful spouse hoping to offload the discomfort of fighting this onerous battle. But you cannot outrun yourself. Wherever they go, the battle goes with them.

Unless they completely kill their conscience, the cheater will never enter into a state of rest.

This is one of the many reasons that I do not envy cheaters. They have compromised their own integrity and brought hell into their own lives by giving into sin.

That look of a cheater…

…is the look of someone trying to look happy but is under incredible internal strain over violating core principles of healthy human relationships.

They may attempt to fake happiness. However, the strain behind the eyes tells a different story. The battle rages until it doesn’t. Sadly, when the battle ends is a bad story for them as it spells the end of spiritual hope for their souls.
