Not upset enough!

“Rebuke your mother, rebuke her
Let her remove the adulterous look from her face
and the unfaithfulness from between her breasts.”

Hosea 2:2a,c, NIV

I lacked the proper anger towards my (now) ex-wife when she admitted to cheating emotionally.

Honestly, I did not care at the time. From my perspective, it came across as another way to manipulate me. You see, the admission was used as a way to blame me for relationship issues.

“I only cheated because we never…. [fill in excuse] or you didn’t… [fill in excuse],” says Cheater.

None of the adults we consulted for help called her on this. They were putty in her hands turning on me as opposed to refusing to be manipulated by this classic cheater tactic.

To be fair, I was not upset enough about the emotional cheating.

This is why I tell people here not to be dismissive of such cheating. THEIR CHEATING needs to be the focus!

They CHOSE to cheat and harm the faithful spouse. The focus needs to be upon them to make it up to the spouse they harmed by cheating.

Do not let them punch their spouse in the emotional gut and then spend the time telling you how they had such abuse coming to them!

You did NOT deserve to be cheated on, ever! They made those sinful choices and are fully responsible for them. How dare they further add insult to injury by blaming you or the marriage for their wickedness!!!
