Power not marriage

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

-Ephesians 5:21, NIV

I am convinced some cheaters treat marriage issues as power struggles.

They refuse to submit to their spouse as they find it offensive to actually “lose” in any way. To them, the idea of humbling themselves and truly repenting is repulsive.

This is why some cheaters flee and discard their spouse. They know they lost the moral high ground by cheating and refuse to be at a “disadvantage” in the marriage going forward.

It is sad and sick.

Faithful spouses, you can consider yourself fortunate to lose such a spouse. Why? They have shown themselves as followers of their own idols as opposed to God.

The path of following God that requires them to repent has been determined by them to be too costly. So, they have chosen to break their vows and set you free from the marriage union.
