Saeed Abedini Saga Continues

Saeed Abedini is the pastor released from the Iranian prison and embraced by Franklin Graham. His wife, Naghmeh, fought for his release for years then filed for divorce citing abuse issues in their marriage.

Recently, Saeed was in court for violating a restraining order made on Naghmeh’s behalf (see article here).

For the skeptics regarding Nagmeh’s story, I just want to point out that violating a restraining order is a deliberate choice and action. The legal system viewed it as worthy of punishment (see article here).

That gives further credence to Naghmeh’s assertions that Saeed was abusive in their marriage. Certainly, he pushes boundaries.

All of this is to say that this is even more reason to believe Naghmeh who appears even more clearly as someone attempting to escape an abusive marriage.

  1. If someone wants you to leave them alone, if they are inherently not abusive, they *would* leave you alone. Imagine how embarrassed we would be, as non abusers, that someone felt compelled to take legal action for protection from us. We would do everything we could to make this go away, and would never push the issue. You don’t want me around? I will grant your wish.

I wish that judges and others in positions of power would use common sense. Only a disordered person with a relentless commitment to their own selfish, sinful agenda would purse contact with someone who wishes not to have it.
