“Why did you cheat?” asks faithful spouse.
“You know I’ve been unhappy in our marriage for a while,” says Cheater.
Unhappy Excuse
Some cheaters may want to make you in charge of what only they can solve–i.e. their inner feelings. They make it sound like you have the power to control their happiness or misery. It is all on you!
But do we buy this excuse for other forms of abuse?
“Why did you hit me?” asks Victim.
“Well, you know I’ve been unhappy for a while. You should be asking yourself why I had to hit you,” says Abuser.
Something is wrong with a person who finds happiness through harming others, and that is what cheaters are doing. Then they try to blame the victim for the abuse that they put them through! It is sick.
There are plenty of options a cheater could have chosen other than lying, cheating, and deceiving their partner in order to get “happy.”
Blaming their partner for this sinful behavior is just demonstrating how unfit they were to be partnered at all!
